To start off our blogging again, the perfect couple for the job is Erica + Steve! Their July wedding (will blog soon!) was to-die-for and their engagement session was equally as unique! Planning for this was as exciting as it was exhausting. We had three different plans, and three reschedules with a STRONG chance that we were going to be rained out again.
It’s our favorite thing, FAVORITE THING, to figure out what our couples obsess over. What they love to do together. What makes them laugh. What makes them remember why they fell in love in the first place. With Steve and Erica, they helped us do just that. Their love for their city, the outdoors, adventuring to as many national parks as they can, and an ocassional bluegrass festival here and there, we worked to incorporate many aspects with them to bring their vision and their relationship to life through stills.
We all decided we were going to tough it out, hail or not! I drew up (literally) a new plan. Yes, on paper! And off we went. They had the camper-bus packed and ready and I pulled up with Ashley in my parents’ beater car, an early 2000s Ford Taurus that probably should have been totaled for the hail damage it had incurred through the years. We packed it full with rain jackets, rain boots, umbrellas and shoot-jackets (our cameras need raincoats too!) It was safe to say were prepared.
3 hours later, and no rain in sight, we finished and we were OVERJOYED! I’ll let the pictures tell the rest of the story.
PS: It never rained.
