We didn’t plan on blogging twice today, but we have the best reason to double-post! We’ve been keeping images hostage for a really really really long time. We’ve been sitting on this since June, actually… and today it finally all came together! Guys. Our Styled Shoot with so many of our friends was published today on Green Wedding Shoes! But it’s been a whopping 8 months in the making…
It started in May. We had breakfast with our friends, Nick & Jen with Wild Oak Films like we do every few months. They invite us in their home and cook us the BEST breakfast burritos while we chat about the next wild idea we’re having. This particular day, I (Ashley B.) could not lose the fascination with having one of our brides get ready with their groom. Seriously, the idea still to this day is my favorite thing and I wish EVERYONE would do it, but that’s a post for another day. While chatting about this, with their help we started talking about how much WE want to travel more because we’re itching for mountains, cliffs and forests. Then it dawned on us… what if we brought nature into the venue in a way more than just bouquets and centerpieces? We have plenty of industrial venues so we needed to come up with a way to bring the earth and softness into those venues on wedding day. We live in a really unpredictable climate, and one day is not like the rest and all of our couples are adventurous and free-spirited. We wanted to give them inspiration in their home town on what they could do to bring the earth here in the flatlands of Kansas.
We reached out to Faith with Bel Amour Events immediately knowing she’d be the perfect fit for this adventurous Styled Shoot. With contrasting ideas, we started collaborating and the design process began immediately. Instantaneously, we knew that Distillery 244, a brand new venue in Wichita, Kansas, would be the perfect place for the challenge! Read more about it and all the rest of the vendors over on Green Wedding Shoes.
We are beyond thrilled to have been able to team up with some of the best vendors to bring this vision to life. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to all the vendors who collaborated to bring these ideas together. Faith, the design mastermind – we sincerely couldn’t have done it without you!
