Jessie + Patrick // Rustic & Gold Barn Wedding // Halstead Wedding Photographers

We had the honor of shooting a wedding for a dear friend of ours, Jessie! It was everything she’d ever dreamed of and more. She had the rustic outdoor barn wedding she so deeply wanted with NO rain (which she prayed for weeks about) and with the help of her amazing friends and phenomenal family, had a gorgeous quaint black and gold reception with all of the frills!

Not to mention that Xbox Groom’s Cake! Take a look at that!

Jessie met a handsome, goofy, one-of-a-kind fellow in a way that you only read about in novels. The man you meet that you don’t plan to meet. The man you meet and don’t plan to like. The man you meet and definitely don’t plan to marry. However, despite her plans, this fellow quickly took her by surprise as she came to adore him. Then, one day, he would get down on one knee and ask her to be his wife. One day soon.

Jessie and Patrick were wed in Halstead, KS on October 11, 2014 at a private residence for all of their closest family members and friends to witness. They flew from Florida, Louisiana, Connecticut, you name it… and it was everything they’d dreamed and more. We were more than giddy to capture the memories of this day for two very beautiful souls.

We couldn’t help but to include everything for them. <3 Be prepared for a truckload of photos.

Their Story :: Her Version

Well as the story usually goes people say it was love at first sight, it our situation it was the complete opposite. I thought he was rude and I know the feelings were mutual. We ended up being forced into a long car ride together. At this point I don’t think either of us really care what the other thought of one another so we were our normal crazy selfs. By the end of the car ride we were laughing and telling each other everything about each other. Since that day we have not spent much time apart and we wouldn’t have it any other way. We knew almost immediately that we were going to spend the rest of our lives together. The closer we got the more we talked about marriage and starting a family. After about a year and a half I actually asked him to marry me multiple times, little did I know what he had planned. Shortly after he popped the question and I said yes of course! We had about an 11 month engagement and that was the true test of our love but we prevailed. Now we are living our happily ever after!

Their Story :: His Verson

The first day I met Jessie did not start off as great as one would imagine, we did not get along, she was rude and had nothing to say to me. After some convincing we were elected to drive back to town from the lake for supplies and this is where everything changed. At this point I knew she didn’t like me so I was my normal self playing music singing. What happened next was what changed everything. She started to sing and dance in the truck with me, we just had fun and talked about all different things. When we took the time to really listen to each other, we realized how much in common we were. From that day forward we were never apart more than a few days for the sheer fact of we are drawn to each other. I am so happy we got in that truck and took that drive.

Thank you Jessie & Patrick for including us in on your wedding day! We couldn’t be happier for the two of you!

To many, many years of happiness.
