Best of Weddings 2015 | Kansas Wedding Photographers

YOU GUYS! Before we get to all of the pretty pictures, we need to have a little chat. So sit down, grab some champagne, and enjoy our time together.

First and foremost, Ashley (Kay) and I (Bee) are SO excited to be sharing this post with you. Mostly because we never ever ever post and in 2016 we promise to get better. This is going to be a major photo overload, especially for those of you that don’t follow us on Instagram or Twitter. Due to our lack of updates, you probably have no idea that from May through October, we’re shooting a wedding nearly every weekend. That’s 100% our fault that you are unaware of this! BUT as probably most other photographers, we are going to try to be better at filling you in on our lives with our blog with 2016. We want you to know what we do, but in order to fill up your love-tank with pretty photos, we have to have to have to post. So, we will!

This post is also excruciatingly exciting because it sort of made us realize how lucky we are. We worked with twenty-two couples gearing up for their wedding day. We built timelines, made coffee, bought coffee, FaceTimed, met in person, shot engagements, read questionnaires, made frequent trips to Hobby Lobby for linens and ribbons, and took many many steps. Twenty-two couples trusted us with that. Retreating back to my earlier note, we. never. post. It’s CRAZY to me that twenty-two couples found us without consistent Facebook and blog updates, met us, clicked with us, and entrusted us with their day. (Not only did we work with twenty-two wedding couples, but seventy-four seniors in 2015!)

That’s a lot to be thankful for. That, and there’s more. This year, Ashley and her hubby, Zach, bought their first house. If you’ve ever bought a house you know how big of a feat that one is, which is why I mentioned it first. They also traded their little red Suzuki in for a more practical, spacious vehicle, if I do say so myself. A pretty, black, lifted Jeep Wrangler. It’s quite a beaut but don’t be fooled. In its’ most purest form, a Jeep is an off-roading vehicle, so in Jeep-Fashion, it’s windows and doors are powerless. Yes, powerless. Why? To take the doors off with ease of course! It’s a Jeep thing. (There’s a Jeep-Wave too! #jeepculture)

As for me, I moved back out of my parents home and in with my roommate/boyfriend, Justin. Justin’s pretty great. If you’ve met him, you probably fell for his charm just like the rest of the world. I also became a trader and moved to the East-Side and you know what? I’m down with it. I really really like it out here! I mean, the Sephora out East is the bomb.com. I graduated from Crave Beauty Academy and since then, have yet to take State Boards. Such a typical beauty school girl’s last words. OH MAN, I even sold my 2013 Mazda3 this year which was so so hard. I’m now the current owner of a Saturn Aura, in which I can’t complain. No car payment is the way to go, as much as it pains me to say.

As for us, we’ve shot engagements in Colorado, Missouri, Texas, Utah and California. While in California, we took a little trip to Universal Studios which was fun for Ashley. I hate rides, so every ride that Ashley went on (with the exception of one) I closed my eyes the entire time. If you’ve ever been, the Mummy ride is THE WORST. No way no how. Never again. Our goal at the end of 2014 for 2015 was to get a wedding published and with the help of Caitlyn Jeffery and her amazing guidance, we have now had four weddings published! Our biggest amazing-ness from 2015, which I promise to blog about, was our trip to United 2015. We met amazing people and learned SO much. I can say with full confidence that this trip alone changed my life and even my relationship. I’m positive that Ashley can say the exact same thing. She references United time and time again on changing her perspective.

As 2015 will come to an end in a few short hours, we welcome 2016 with open arms and can’t wait to see what it has in store for us and for Kay & Bee Studios.

Now, for the main event, enjoy some pretty and prized images from 2015.
